Reaching out into our communities is vital to our organization,
developing relationships with community leaders, media, school faculty
and local civic groups can greatly assist each post in achieving the VFW
mission.
After Hurricane Ian hit Southwest Florida, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8463, Auxiliary and VFW District 13 of Florida sprung to action. Members volunteered to operate supply distribution centers from our Posts and assisted widows and widowers by clearing debris from their homes in order to provide safety and accessibility for workers.
Many of our members were affected by the hurricane and many still volunteered, even after losing their homes and all of their belongings.
